John Horsewell - The Artist

Since both John Horsewell's parents are professional artists, a trend set by his grandfather, it was as natural for Essex born John Horsewell to pick up a paintbrush, as it was for him to learn to walk.

The love of art in the Horsewell family was very much in evidence and whilst at school John experimented with all forms of painting. He became proficient in many mediums including pastel, water colour, oils and acrylic. John realised that the latter medium was ideal for his style, and with this was able to express fully colour and light.

Upon leaving school John Horsewell entered the world of interior design but in 1978 decided to concentrate fully on his art, and since then has gone from strength to strength and his work is now in collections in the United States, Europe, Great Britain and Japan.

John Horsewell has been noted in the past for such work as Parisian street café scenes, superbly depicted. Recently though there has been a call for minimalist style art, and John has really captured the simplicity and contemporary feel about our dreams and visions of a perfect day away from it all, playing around a fairly deserted stretch of white sand and clear waters, with temperatures to suit of course.
